Ques:- Two trains are on same track and they are coming toward each other. The speed of first train is 50 KMs/h and the speed of second train is 70 KMs/h. A bee starts flying between the trains when the distance between two trains is 100 KMs. The bee first flies from first train to second train. Once it reaches the second train, it flies back to the second train ? and so on until trains collide. Calculate the total distance traveled by the bee. Speed of bee is 40 KMs/h. .
Asked In :-
Right Answer:
The total distance traveled by the bee is 80 kilometers.
Comments
DK BOSS Jul 15, 2021

Answer: 66.67 km approx.

Solution:

Let the first train A move at u km/h.
Let the second train B move at v km/h.
Let the distance between two trains be d km
Let the speed of bee be b km/h
Therefore, the time taken by trains to collide = d/(u+v)
Now putting all the known values into the above equation, we get,

u = 50 km/hr
v = 70 km/hr
d = 100 km
b = 80 km/hr

Therfore, the total distance travelled by bee
= b*d/(u+v)
= 80 * 100/(50+70)
= 66.67 km (approx)

Gary May 6, 2021

0. The bee can never fly away from the first train that it's located on simply because the speed of the bee is less than the train

Vaishnavi Apr 7, 2021

Ques:- A man has a wolf, a goat, and a cabbage. He must cross a river with the two animals and the cabbage. There is a small rowing-boat, in which he can take only one thing with him at a time. If, however, the wolf and the goat are left alone, the wolf will eat the goat. If the goat and the cabbage are left alone, the goat will eat the cabbage. How can the man get across the river with the two animals and the cabbage?
Asked In :-
Right Answer:
1. Take the goat across the river first and leave it on the other side.
2. Go back alone and take the wolf across the river.
3. Leave the wolf on the other side but take the goat back with him to the original side.
4. Leave the goat on the original side and take the cabbage across the river.
5. Leave the cabbage with the wolf on the other side and go back alone to get the goat.
6. Finally, take the goat across the river.

Now all three (wolf, goat, and cabbage) are safely on the other side.

Ques:- A rich merchant had collected many gold coins. He did not want anybody to know about them. One day his wife asked, “How many gold coins do we have?” After pausing a moment, he replied, “Well! If I divide the coins into two unequal numbers, then 32 times the difference between the two numbers equals the difference between the squares of the two numbers.”The wife looked puzzled. Can you help the merchant's wife by finding out how many gold coins they have?

S pushpa Jun 17, 2021

If x is no. of coins, he divide into unequal number,
let x=x1+x2
given condition,
37(x1-x2)=(x1^2-x2^2)
37(x1-x2)=(x1+x2)(x1-x2) b'c0z (a^2-b^2)=(a+b)(a-b)
x1-x2 cancel on both side we remain with
37=(x1+x2)=x
so no. of coins=37

Ques:- Suppose a newly-born pair of rabbits, one male, one female, are put in a field. Rabbits are able to mate at the age of one month so that at the end of its second month a female can produce another pair of rabbits. Suppose that our rabbits never die and that the female always produces one new pair (one male, one female) every month from the second month on.
Asked In :-
Right Answer:
The number of rabbit pairs after n months follows the Fibonacci sequence. The number of pairs after n months is F(n+1), where F is the Fibonacci number. For example, after 1 month: 1 pair, after 2 months: 1 pair, after 3 months: 2 pairs, after 4 months: 3 pairs, after 5 months: 5 pairs, and so on.

Ques:- Imagine you are standing in front of a mirror, facing it. Raise your left hand. Raise your right hand. Look at your reflection. When you raise your left hand your reflection raises what appears to be his right hand. But when you tilt your head up, your reflection does too, and does not appear to tilt his/her head down. Why is it that the mirror appears to reverse left and right, but not up and down
Asked In :-
Right Answer:
A mirror reverses left and right because it reflects the image directly back to you, creating a lateral inversion. However, it does not reverse up and down because the orientation of those axes remains the same.
Comments
DK BOSS Jul 30, 2021

The definition of left and right depends on the observer and
is reversed when facing the opposite direction. The
definition of up and down does not depend on the orientation
of the observer.

Ques:- A rich man died. In his will, he has divided his gold coins among his 5 sons, 5 daughters and a manager. According to his will: First give one coin to manager. 1/5th of the remaining to the elder son.Now give one coin to the manager and 1/5th of the remaining to second son and so on….. After giving coins to 5th son, divided the remaining coins among five daughters equally.All should get full coins. Find the minimum number of coins he has?
Right Answer:
The minimum number of coins he has is 3121.
Comments
Biplab Nath Jul 31, 2021

Answer: 3121 gold coins
Let total no of coins be M
Let the disbursement D to each son:

D1 = 1 + (M – 1)/5 = (M + 4)/5
D2 = 1 + ( M – D1 -1)/5 = (D1) * 4/5
D3= (D2) * 4/5
D4= (D3) * 4/5
D5= (D4) * 4/5
Total disbursements to sons=
= ∑D= (M+4)*1/5[ 1+4/5+(4/5)(4/5)+ (4/5)(4/5)(4/5)+(4/5)(4/5)(4/5)(4/5) ]
= (2101/3125)*(M+4)
Thus balance left for daughters =M-{(2101/3125)*(M+4)}
=(1024M-8404)/3125
This balance should be a positive integer ( assuming M and all disbursements are full coins )
Thus 1024M-8404 should be a multiple of 3125….so….
1024M - 8404 = N*3125 where N is an integer
Using Python code:
n=int(input("Enter num n: "))
X=int()
a=int()
a=0
X=' '
for a in range(0,n+1):
a=a+1
X= (3125*a + 8404)/1024
if (3125*a + 8404)% 1024== 0:
print(X,a)
Enter num n: 10000
3121.0 1020
6246.0 2044

18746.0 6140
21871.0 7164
24996.0 8188

Biplab Nath Jul 31, 2021

Answer= 76 diamonds

Let total diamonds = M

Thief 1 ( T1 ) took = M/2 +2

T2 = M/4 + 1

T3 = M/8 + 1/2

T4= M/16 + 1/4

T5= 1
Adding them should sum up to M
Thus the equation: M = M*(15/16) + 19/4 ......thus M = 76

T1, T2 , T3, T4, T5 are 40, 20, 10, 5 , 1 respectively

Ques:- A light bulb is hanging in a room. Outside of the room there are three switches, of which only one is connected to the lamp. In the starting situation, all switches are 'off' and the bulb is not lit. If it is allowed to check in the room only once.How would you know which is the switch?
Asked In :-
Right Answer:
Turn on the first switch and leave it on for about 10 minutes. Then, turn it off and turn on the second switch. Enter the room. If the bulb is on, it's the second switch. If the bulb is off but warm, it's the first switch. If the bulb is off and cold, it's the third switch.

Put switch 1 on and leave it on for 2 minutes, then switch it off.
Put switch 2 on and leave it on, then walk into the room.
If the light is on, the answer is switch 2.
If the light is off but the bulb is warm when you feel it, the answer is switch 1.
If the light is off and the bulb is cold when you feel it, the answer is switch 3.

First of all we have to switch on the first switch and have to leave it for 6 or more minutes. After that, we have switch off it and second switch have to be turn on. Now immediately go to the room and touch the bulb. If the bulb is hot, first switch is the answer. If the bulb is already glowing, second one is the answer. if bulb is neither glowing nor hot, third one is the answer.
