Computer hardware is the collective term for the physical components that make up a computer system. It’s the tangible part of a computer, in contrast to software, which is the code and data. At its core, hardware is the machine that processes information and enables software to run. The main internal components are housed within the computer case and include the motherboard, which acts as the central nervous system, connecting all other parts. The central processing unit (CPU) is the brain, responsible for executing instructions and performing calculations. These input devices, like keyboards and mice, are used to enter information, while output devices, such as monitors and printers, display or present the results. Networking hardware, including modems and routers, connects the computer to the internet and other networks. The continuous evolution of computer hardware drives advancements in technology, making computers faster, more powerful, and more compact, and enabling the development of more sophisticated software and applications.
