Let us assume, third person has 'x' cartridges. He divides his cartridges equally.
Therefore now each has 'x/3' no. of cartridges.
After 4 shots of each person means : 'x/3 - 4' no. of cartridges is remaining to each of the persons.
Next it is said total cartridges remaining are equal to what each had initially after sharing.
Hence, (x/3-4)+(x/3-4)+(x/3-4) = x/3
x=18

total cuts=no of pieces-1
no of pieces=138
total=138-1
total=137

The man committed suicide. He stood on a big ice cube and hung himself. After some time the ice melted and water puddle only present in the scene along with the hung man.
This is a stupid question, but that's what they're looking for. No one is asking where did the block of ice come from? Was all the water turned into ice when the man hang himself? If so, how did he know that he would die of hanging and not of cold? If he was force in there when the water was frozen, he would have die long before the Ice melted. Ice cubes do not stay steady and they're slippery.

Give a little amount of drink from each bottle with a time gap of some minutes and notice the time.
Start calculating time if death starts, so that the poisoned bottle can be found.
i.e.,
At 1st min the mouse tastes 1st bottle, if it is poisoned then it dies at 10 hr 1 min.
After 15 mins the mouse tastes 2nd bottle, if it is poisoned then it dies at 10 hr 15 min
After 30 minutes the mouse tastes 3rd bottle, if it is poisoned then it dies at 10 hr 30 min
Proceeding like this,
After 4 hrs 30 mins the mouse tastes 19th bottle, if it is poisoned then it dies at 14 hrs 30 min
If the mouse is still alive after 14 hrs 30 min, then the poison will be in the 20th bottle.
Hence the answer is 1.

Answer 18 days.
first day jumps 3, slips 2 = total climbing 1ft.
second day starts from 1t, jumps 3, slips 2, total= 2ft.
18th day jumps 3 feets, AND WILL NOT SLIPS BACK because he is already above the well.
